What are Classic Job Ads?
A classic job ad is, as the name indicates, a standard job advert which describes the role, salary, requirements etc. If you are looking for full time jobs, search for 'Classic or Instajobs™'. If you are looking to hire staff, choose this type to have the most control over features and price.
What are Instajobs™
Instajobs™ are similar to Classic Job Ads but can be set up instantly and easily. If you are looking for full time jobs, search for 'Classic or Instajobs™'. If you are looking to hire staff, choose this type of ad to quickly and easily set up a job ad for a fixed price.
What is the difference between a Classic Job Ad and an Instajob™?
They are fundamentally the same. They serve the same purpose. However, an Instajob is a a subset of a classic ad with fewer options and a fixed price. This makes setting up an Instajob™ very easy. Classic Job Ads provide you with the full range of options and you can pick and choose until your job ad is exactly the way you want it to be. You can also upload your own images and files for a classic ad.
What is a Task?
A task is a one off job for any task/work you have or anything you can do. If you need something doing or if there is something you can do, but do not want to put it up for auction, list a task. Once your task has been listed, people who are interested can either accept your price or make you an offer.
What are Job Auctions?
Job Auctions are auction listings for a one-off job. This can range from looking for a builder to work or your house extension to searching for someone to walk your dog. Any job you can imagine can be turned into an auction. Nothing is too small or too big for The Job Auction.
Once it is set up, people can submit bids and tell you how much they are willing to do the job for.
You are more than welcome to browse other people's auctions and maybe you see something you would like to bid on.
What are Skill Auctions?
Skill Auctions are auction listings for a skill you have. Any skill, talent or expertise you have can be auctioned off. This can range from you applying to fix someone's sink, to planning their wedding. Whatever you can do, auction it off. Nothing is too small or too big for The Job Auction.
Once it is set up, people can submit bids and tell you how much they are willing to give you for your services.
I am looking for a full time job. How can I find one?
Go to Search and in the first field choose 'Job Ads & Instajobs™ only'. You can also specify keywords and choose your location.
Alternatively, you can change the type of listings you want to see by clicking on the 'Type Chooser' at the top of the page
I am looking for a new member of staff. What type of listing should I choose?
Since you are looking for a permanent employee you can either choose a Classic Job Ad or an Instajob™. A classic job listing is more flexible and provides you with more settings whereas the Instajob™ has a fixed price and is quick to list.
I have a one off job or task. Which type of listing should I choose?
Choose a Job Auction. This allows you to describe your task/job, upload images and additional files and set a maximum price you are prepared to pay (the start bid).
I have a skill or talent. Which type of listing should I choose?
Choose a Skill Auction. This allows you to describe your skill or talent, upload images and additional files and set a minimum price you want for your services (the start bid).
How do I set a fixed price for my Skill or Job Auction
For any auction listing type you have the option to enable the AcceptNow™ functionality. This will add a fixed price of your choosing to the auction. If you only want the fixed price, without people being able to bid, choose 'AcceptNow™ ONLY'. This will turn off the auction functionality and only show the fixed price/rate.
How do I make sure I don't pay too much for my work or am paid too little for my skill?
For each auction you can set the 'Start Bid'. For Job Auctions this is the maximum amount you would be prepared to pay. Potential bidders will have to go lower than the start bid.
For Skill Auctions this is the minimum amount you would be prepared to accept for your services. Potential bidders will have to go higher than the start bid.
Why should I create an Auction? Surely I could just advertise my skills directly?
That is true. You could of course advertise your skills directly. However, an auction makes sure you will get the best price possible.
How can I advertise my skills at a fixed price/rate (not as an auction)?
To disable the auction functionality, create a new auction listing and make sure you tick the Accept Now™ and the Accept Now Only check boxes. This will turn off the auction functionality and only create a fixed price.
