The company is currently seeking an experienced Project Scheduler.
Responsibilities:
Position Summary/ Primary Purpose
Responsible for the management of project schedules from initiation through closeout, in particular focusing on development of phasing, schedule logic, monitoring progress, identifying issues/delays and managing schedule of values and project invoicing.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Creating project schedules using project drawings and specifications
Updating project schedules based on logic changes and field progress reports
Helping to identify delays, schedule impacts, etc. and working with project team to mitigate.
Knowledge of unit and material resource capabilities.
Prepare various comparison reports, charts and tables for project analysis based on department established formats
Capable of creating work breakdown structure
Data entry through Excel
Leading development of primary schedules and maintaining man-hour forecasts; report schedule variances per established deadlines.
Analyzing work progress and developing craft productivity reports to document activity requirements per construction schedules.
Teaching scheduling concepts and technical skills to junior level schedulers and new hires and providing development and training to others in the organization.
Assist in preparing special reports, studies, etc., request by the client and/or project management department.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Identification of opportunities for organizational process improvement related to scheduling and sequencing of operations.
Travel to project sites as necessary to effectively manage the project schedule. (Travel up to 10%)
Basic Broad Knowledge
Administration Management— Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Basic Skills & Abilities
Time Management — Managing one's own time and the time of others.
Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
Verbal and Written Expression and Recognition — The ability to listen to, understand and communicate information and ideas presented through spoken or written words and sentences.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Four (4) years of advanced education or equivalent work experience
Must possess exceptional knowledge of Primavera P3 & P6 software
Must be proficient in MS Excel
Must be proficient in Microsoft Project
Must be a self-starter
Previous construction or conveyor work experience helpful
Must have the ability to work with minimum supervision
Must be conscientious
Must have the ability to Interact at all levels of management / staff
Must be detailed oriented
Demonstrated Physical Abilities
Remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence.
