The Drive Safe and Save Telematics DataBytes team is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to be part of a talented, self-directed agile team that knows how to get things done while also having a good time. We build modern data solutions, new designs and platforms in conjunction with State Farms Personal



Lines Modernization initiative and for future third party Telematics. We aspire to lead and build modernized flexible data solutions by taking into account the customer pain points. Attention to scalability, performance, resiliency, overall quality of delivering solutions, and systematically handling error scenarios are key qualities of competitive candidates.



 



 



Some Responsibilities Include:



 



Conducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices



Exhibits relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards.



Embraces emerging technology opportunities and contributes to the best practices in support of the Telematics technology transformation



Contributes to culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement



Continue with the data migration effort from legacy to modernized system.



Qualifications:

Strong software design and development experience with thorough understanding of:



Modularity; creating software that is reusable, extensible, and easy to test



Maintainability, availability, performance, scalability error handling & resiliency



Strong critical thinking and ability to independently troubleshoot and analyze



 



Minimum 3+ years of software development experience in:



Python



Splunk



Kafka Implementing event based message processing using network of Kakfa streams and connectors or similar technology.



Building asynchronous event based design patterns and application development



Kubernetes, Docker - Designing and developing



Containerized workflows



Hands-on experience with AWS public cloud such as RDS, S3, EC2, etc.



Hands on experience with Postgres or any other relational database Data Design, Database administration and implementation



Continuous Integration technologies (GitOps, GitLab, Git CI/CD, Runners)



 



Preferred Qualifications:



AWS certification is a plus



Insurance knowledge is a plus



Unit and integration automated testing.



Knowing one of the Integration Frameworks - Karate, JBehave, Serenity etc. is a plus



REST API/SOAP application development experience
