Senior IT Director


The Senior Director of IT is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions across the company. This includes directing all IT operations to meet company requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technology solutions.  Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, communications, security systems, software applications, and peripherals.




Establish and meet departmental financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.

Manage information technology staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

Communicate regularly with management and all users of information services and systems.

Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with requirements.

Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.

Develop reliable metrics for hardware, software and storage while ensuring strategic capacity planning. Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.

Develop and implement standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols and guidance to IT staff and to end-users.

Ensure compliance with SOX system and business controls.

Keep current with the latest technologies and determine what new technology solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements. Identifies and recommends new technology solutions.

Identify security vulnerabilities and eliminate them with strategic solutions that increase data safety.

Manage servers, security solutions, network hardware and equipment.

Manage telecommunications infrastructure and development plans, projects, policies and procedures.

Oversee all hardware and software evaluations and maintain vendor contracts.

Direct and support implementation of hardware and software upgrades.

Oversee systems development and enhancement and the integration of new systems with existing systems.

Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.

Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.

Provide support for any special projects as assigned by direct supervisor and executive management.

Support and cultivate company culture ensuring positive environment and alignment with company strategy and objectives.

Follow all company policies and protocols, including Health and Safety, Quality Standards, Environmental Policy, and Ethics Policy.

Education and Experience:


Bachelor’s Degree with 15+ years relevant work experience.

Minimum 10+ years experience at director or higher level

Minimum 10+ years experience in project management and leading complex IT projects.

Demonstrated track record with complex ERP systems in the Oil & Gas E&P industry.

Extensive experience with modern technologies, including hardware solutions, networking, data structures and storage, systems security, automation and reporting tools, etc.


Other requirements:


Stong management skills in establishing priorities, organizing resources, and managing concurrent efforts.

Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and team leadership skills with the ability to create a strong team environment, including the ability to communicate technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences.

Knowledge of and familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley IT controls and change management.

The ability to effectively analyze complex technical issues and provide timely solutions.

The ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all functions across the company.
