Position Summary and Responsibilities Vassar College invites applications for the Moorhead Academic Coach reporting to the Director for the Office for Accessibility and Educational Opportunity.

Funded through The Moorhead Endowment for Diversity in Learning, the Moorhead Academic Coach will provide academic coaching and learning strategy assistance for students with diagnosed learning differences, psychological disorders, chronic health impairments, and other disability-related needs.

The Moorhead Academic Coach will also help coordinate academic accommodations and services, and assist faculty in creating learning environments that are stimulating, challenging, welcoming, and accessible to all types of learners.

Responsibilities: Provide executive skills/academic coaching services and learning strategy instruction for students registered with the Office for Accessibility and Educational Opportunity; Assist in the implementation of services, programs, policies, and procedures related to the provision of reasonable accommodations and auxiliary aids; Coordinate accommodations and services and provide support to students and faculty related to learning skills/strategies, executive function skills, and use of technology; Perform additional administrative duties to contribute toward effective implementation of office programs and services.

This benefits-eligible position is full-time during the academic year (43 weeks/year, Mid-August through Mid-June).

Qualifications Qualifications: Advanced degree in learning disabilities, special education, or related academic discipline with relevant experience and training in the field of learning disabilities, strongly preferred; Three years teaching or direct professional experience working with students with learning differences, preferably at post-secondary level, with graduate course work in the interpretation of psychoeducational testing; Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaboratively, and respectfully in a complex and diverse academic environment; Ability to interact effectively and communicate clearly, orally and in writing, with students, faculty, and staff; Excellent planning and organizational skills; Demonstrated willingness to advance professional skills and knowledge in Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and related sections of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
