Assistant Professor of Sociology in Sociological Theory Description The Department of Sociology and Anthropology is conducting a tenure track search for an Assistant Professor of Sociology to begin in the Fall 2020.

We seek a colleague who specializes in sociological theory, maintains an exciting research agenda, and is dedicated to teaching undergraduate students in a liberal arts context.

PhD in hand and some teaching experience preferred.

Faculty members are expected to teach four courses per year that span the department’s curriculum.

The person who occupies this position should expect to teach one or two foundational theory courses each year, one or two courses that rotate among or are shared by the faculty, for example, Foundations in Sociology (our introductory course) and Thesis Writers Master Class (our seminar for seniors), and one or two courses in topical areas of expertise.
