Whether this pilot returnship leads to a full-time career, or serves to sharpen the skills necessary to take the next step, it will be a valuable experience for participants to build their career portfolio.

BUSINESS OVERVIEW: BlackRock Renewable Power (“BRP”) Investment Team is a team within BlackRock Alternative Investors (“BAI”).
BRP invests in wind and solar infrastructure assets on a global basis and was formed in 2011 as BlackRock identified the attractiveness of owning real assets and expanded their Alternatives offering through the creation of an infrastructure platform.
The team comprises nearly 50 professionals who have significant renewable power/energy expertise.
Since 2011, BlackRock’s renewable equity franchise has grown into one of the largest dedicated renewable energy investment platforms in the world with $5.0Bn of AUM and committed capital and investments in over 250 wind and solar projects, onshore and offshore, with a total generation capacity of over 4.9 GW, located throughout the U.S., Mexico, Japan, Canada, Ireland, France, the U.K., Norway, Sweden, Australia and Taiwan.
In addition to our dedicated renewable energy investing strategy BlackRock’s Infrastructure business is now a 150-person business that manages over $20.5Bn of capital across a range of currencies, sector strategies and parts of the capital structure with $10Bn of infrastructure debt to invest and teams spread across three continents including key offices in New York, Madrid, Mexico City, London, Dublin, Bogotá, Hong Kong, Houston, Sydney and more.
BlackRock Infrastructure can also deploy other pools of opportunistic capital within BAI, which itself currently manages $151Bn.
This is an opportunity to join the BRP investment team as a temporary intern with responsibility for supporting technical due diligence of renewable asset investments and performance optimization of our existing fleet of renewable assets.
The position will report to the Director – Americas Technical.
They will support the whole Technical Operations department as well as working independently to support the Investment Team and the Financial Operations Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the technical diligence for the Investment Team to assess and execute renewable project investments.
Integrate newly acquired assets into the Renewable Power Group (RPG) operational monitoring systems.
Understand the economic, commercial and reputational drivers of our investments in order to identify risks and opportunities – implementation of solutions to mitigate risk and protect returns.
Assist in managing and monitoring the key operational / technical assumptions in financial modeling utilized to screen and make investment decisions.
Assist in the development of budgets for existing projects including the report creation and maintenance.
Maintain key data from potential and actual investments to enhance future assumptions / budgeting as well as elevate the overall institutional market intelligence.
Assist in the development of the RPG strategic approach to operations management of assets to maximize project performance.
Liaise with the Financial Operations team to ensure the proper information is available for effective financial reporting.
Communicate asset performance effectively to Senior Management, investors and the BRP teams.
QUALIFICATIONS VP-equivalent or higher prior to work break; or 7 years relevant experience 2 year voluntary career break Outstanding analytical, communication and organizational skills.
Experience in wind and/or solar technical due diligence, wind and/or solar resource assessment, and/or wind and/or solar farm operations.
Strong academic background in Engineering or Science with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
Ability to synthesize and communicate large amounts of information in succinct manner.
Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint essential.
