EARTHWORK/GRADING SERVICES PRACTICE MANAGER E&E Construction is looking for a self-starter with exemplary client and employee management skills to lead our Earthwork/Grading Services Practice.
As a manager of this Practice, you will be responsible for growing this practice by leading business development efforts, managing personnel including Project Managers, Project Managing of key client accounts, and implementing policies and procedures to ensure growth and profitability of Earthwork/Grading Services.
Key duties and responsibilities will include the following: Business Development to identify opportunities within Earthwork/Grading through client meetings attending professional organizations, preparation, and submittal of proposals and Statement of Qualifications through information (i.e.
Management of the Earthwork/Grading Services Practice which includes client and employee management that will include the following activities:Evaluate specifications to plan procedures, starting and completion times, and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.Assemble project team (supervisory, clerical, engineering, cost control, and other workers) to execute on the project.
Direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.Oversees supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce.Manages supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.Acts as public spokesperson interfacing with the multiple stakeholders.Develop a strategic plan for the Practice and provide annual budgeting and workload schedules.
To perform this job successfully, applicants are to have the following qualifications:Education/Experience College degree in a related engineering or construction field preferred, with a minimum of 10 year minimum of relevant experience in the construction field with a proven track record of 5 plus years of Earthwork/Grading related work OR minimum high school degree with 15 years direct relevant experience in Earthwork/Grading related workManagement: Minimum of 5 years of managing subordinate supervisors who supervise other employees and conducting the following supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Proposal Writing Skills: Minimum of 10 years of experience of reading and interpreting documents to prepare winning proposals.
Computer Skills: Skilled in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
