This creative, curious reporter writes, edits and publishes compelling image-rich stories that support our strategy and drive our unique company culture.
This role will report to the Internal Communications Sr.
Manager and support the global internal communications program as a whole.
The position is preferably located in Chicago, but if you’ve got the right talent and drive, we’d be happy to find you a spot at any U.S.
Protiviti office location.Provides hands on creative writing and storytelling, web publishing, site maintenance, administration and future enhancements on Protiviti’s visually rich, global company news intranet and sister mobile site, i on Protiviti.
Keeps site fresh and engaging with a daily supply of interesting, relevant and timely new articles that keep readers coming back.
Creates, writes, tests, and sends weekly global digest-style email linking to stories.Using an investigative reporter mindset writes creative, engaging stories about Protiviti’s people and our professional services that appeal to our diverse, global community.
Manages pipeline of diverse story ideas and works with subject matter experts across the firm to bring their stories to life.Writes professional, polished, creative articles using AP and Protiviti style.
Conducts interviews, checks facts, and finds or develops photos or images to accompany the stories.Works independently and with internal creative support functions to produce graphics, images and videos to deliver visually appealing and engaging content.Works with stakeholders and content managers to develop and manage content through the appropriate review, approval, and publishing process.
Sets expectations, provides and communicates updates and meets expectations.
Works in a deadline-driven environment requiring excellent project management and follow through skills that drive results.Maintains editorial calendar that organizes content pipeline and campaigns by channel, audience, and review/approval/publishing timelines.Develops collaborative and subject matter expert relationships at all levels throughout our global community.Seeks, analyzes, and reports feedback and readership metrics on an ongoing basis.
Continuously and proactively seeks innovative improvements based on feedback and measurements to better reach and engage our people.Provides ad hoc creative writing and editing thought leadership in support of overall internal communications strategy and functions to positively influence quarterly Town Halls, leadership emails, print materials, talking points/scripts, videos, Yammer blog posts, PowerPoint presentations, Office 365 apps, and as needed.Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications or related field required.4-6 years of experience in corporate/employee/agency communications.Must have excellent creative writing, editing, and proofreading ability for both technical and persuasive writing piecesKnowledge of AP Style a must.Must have web content development and content management experience.
Knowledge of SharePoint content publishing is an asset.Must have demonstrated ability to be comfortable a corporate environment with leadership and C-suite.Must have excellent project management skills, the ability to multitask, set expectations and deliver, be proactive, and drive projects through completion.Must have a sharp, creative eye for graphic web design via spatial relationships, layout balance, image sizing, and enhancements.Must be able to work in a fun but demanding, fast paced, deadline-driven environment that requires the ability to flex, prioritize, and work outside normal office hours.
Minimal travel.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (O365), including PowerPoint, and have prior experience performing basic tasks in Adobe Creative Suite or similar programs.Familiarity with social media and community building strategy and tactics is a big plus.Familiarity with web content management/publishing web traffic analytic tools is a big plus.Background as a reporter, writer, or interviewer is a big plus.Knowledge of consulting industry is a plus.Protiviti is not licensed or registered as a public accounting firm and does not issue opinions on financial statements or offer attestation services.
