Responsibilities Overseeing market and financial research regarding real estate supply, demand, pricing, and investment parameters, including in-market interviews, data gathering, and confirmation of comparable transactions, as well as utilizing data subscription sources Acquiring knowledge of the use and capabilities of subscription data sources, e.g., CoStar, SNL, CBRE-EA, and mining data from the sources efficiently Manage the process of collecting, manipulating, and analyzing property, market, and financial data, including: analyzing historic property operating statements abstracting and analyzing leases preparing complex cash flow models using Excel and/or ARGUS software, including analyzing available data to estimate revenues, costs, and rates of return estimating property and portfolio values Ensure all work product is accurate and complete Review reports and presentations to team and clients, including graphic and written sections Requirements/Qualifications SVP level: Approximately seven plus years of real estate industry experience demonstrating solid real estate analytical capabilities VP level: Approximately five plus years of real estate industry experience demonstrating solid real estate analytical capabilities Experience with a national firm, providing transaction-related real estate services and within mergers and acquisitions Bachelor’s degree in real estate or business administration or other related academic major with essential classes in finance, accounting, and economics Master’s degree or progress toward an advance degree a plus Possession of, or progress toward, real estate industry certifications and licenses, e.g., MAI, CCIM, certified general real estate appraiser, broker, CPA, a plus Willing to travel Skills Excellent client management and business development expertise Strong business writing and presentation capability Able to manage multiple projects and interact with clients and internal management Skilled in supervising and training staff Excellence with organization, problem solving, and communication Strong work ethic and attention to detail Technical Skills Demonstrated real estate analytical skills, including ability to identify and analyze comparable property sales and leases Knowledge of commercial property lease terms, including expense treatments and adjustments to yield comparable rent amounts Knowledge of real estate valuation techniques Strong technical modeling skills with Excel and ARGUS software and ability to model property performance and waterfalls from property financial statements, debt instruments, ownership documents, budgets, and leases combined with market data Thorough competence in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
