Licensed Therapist Responsibilities: Provides clinical therapeutic services (i.e., engages, interviews, assesses, counsels, and educates) to veterans Provides individual, family, and group therapy to clients using evidence-based therapies, practices and protocols.
Supervises, trains and oversees staff development of all clinical staff and unlicensed employees while working in conjunction with program management personnel.
Such programs include: PTSD, substance abuse, countertransference, suicide/homicide risk assessment, crisis and professional self-care.
Establishes and maintains a professional therapeutic relationship with all clients and potential clients.
Develops initial assessments and ongoing client treatment plans.
Provides direct clinical intervention services and crisis intervention services to clients in need.
Maintains confidential client files in a professional and timely manner ensuring all forms are the most recently revised versions and in compliance with organization standards; all required documents are present, complete, signed by the client and staff as applicable; and documents are placed in the correct order according to organization standards Coordinates and collaborates client services with the V.A.
(Veterans Administration) and other referrals in the community as appropriate.
Maintains office hours that are conducive to client needs, and an office environment that is conducive to therapeutic effectiveness.
Ensures that all services are provided per grant requirements.
Performs other duties as required.
Ideal candidate must have a thorough understanding of: Mental health counseling principles, crisis intervention, practices, and applications to include military cultural competency (e.g., PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse) Networking, partnership building, outreach, and public speaking Educational and vocational counseling principles, practices, and applications (e.g., employability and employment stability) File documentation practices and electronic records management Community resources Federal regulations and policies (e.g., HIPAA, Privacy Acts, and professional ethics) Qualifications A Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related human services field Professional licensure in California for at least 2 years as (PsyD, LCSW, LMFT or LPCC) 15-hr required B.B.S.
(Board of Behavioral Sciences or Board of Psychology Clinical Supervision course.
Experience in Medi-Cal documentation charting and billing procedures (preferred) Broad knowledge of and recommended direct clinical experience using evidenced-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Seeking Safety, and Trauma Informed Care.
Valid driver’s license required.
Must meet company insurance requirements and complete a provided driver training course.
