Our client is a very successful company in the International Media sector.
Growth of the business has determined this newly created role – initially a direct 6 month contract but this should then be made permanent. The role supports the System Manager – so together you will be the IT experts in the business. So, take this role and make it your own!
You will be responsible for the IT systems at their 2 Stockport locations and sometimes working remotely to support their systems in their sister company in Australia.
You will look after PC, Macs, Printers, the internal phone system, network connections and other technology. And you will have input into future plans for systems growth and development.
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
Account set up and network configuration
Track computer system issues through to resolution – working to agreed time limits
Follow up with internal clients/colleagues after successful resolution of issues
Working and managing several open issues at any one time
Document technical knowledge in form of manuals and notes
Monitoring backup regime
Create and maintain an up to date inventory of hardware and software assets
Assist staff in use and maintenance of hardware and software
You will also work closely with the Systems Manager in scoping and evaluating and implementing new systems and together you will both champion technology led and data-led initiatives across the business.
You will need a good working knowledge and awareness of:
Active Directory, Domain Controller, DNS, VPN
Running and administering a Windows domain
Networking hardware and software
PC hardware and software
Mac hardware and software
Supporting Microsoft Office
Supporting Adobe Creative Cloud
Video editing hardware and software
Network diagnostics, network analytical tools
Ethernet patching and cabling
If you have an idea of how Hypervisors and Virtual Machines work that would be welcome here.
You will have about 2 years in an IT support role and be ready for that next step up.
You will be great with all forms of IT but also able to talk, teach and encourage those of us who are not as technically minded as you are!
It’s Monday to Friday only with flexible work patterns available Monday to Thursday.
Fridays are 9am to 4pm
