Description 

Prestigious University is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer who is passionate about architecting, building at scale on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The Cloud Operations Engineer is responsible for maintaining and monitoring cloud infrastructure.

This position will be responsible for assisting solution architects with designing, building, and maintaining automation tools to provision, deploy and manage the College s cloud platform.

The Cloud Operations Engineer will report into the Associate Director of Enterprise Applications and will work closely with Network, Security, Infrastructure, Web and Software Developer teams.

A candidate immersed in AWS services, DevOps tools and Cloud Infrastructure is highly desirable.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor s degree in computer engineering or similar area of study or military experience Cloud Experience with AWS At least 4 years of experience in software development At least 3 years of experience working with cloud based infrastructure in AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, SNS, Docker, etc.) At least 2 years of experience building with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools (CloudFormation, Chef, Ansible, etc.) Experience operating, automating and scaling cloud based infrastructure platforms.

Experience designing, implementing and operating build release automation and continuous integration and deployment.

Experience managing operational monitoring, metrics and logging systems.

Experience with programming and infrastructure automation (e.g.

Python, Shell, Java, and JSON).

Demonstrate a strong understanding of Linux, running in cloud platforms.

Experience with programming and infrastructure automation (e.g.

Python, Shell, Java, and JSON).

Experience building cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools like AWS CloudFormation or Ansible.

Experience with Containers.

You know how to get an application into Docker, and how to make Docker Production-ready in the cloud.

Experience automating and building CICD pipelines, using tools like BitBucket and Jenkins.

Ability to design and implement robust and maintainable utilities.

Stay current with emerging cloud approaches (i.e.

container services, serverless applicationspatterns, platform as a service options, etc).
