The Lead Analyst, Data Management & Quantitative Analysis role will work very closely with FX Sales and Trading in order to improve the quality of data being used to manage the FX businesses.

Additionally, the individual will partner with business leads and business partners to drive improved analytics and reporting.

The role will require interactive continuous improvement and project delivery, with a heavy focus on business analytics to better inform management decisions.

The candidate will sit on the trading floor and frequently interact with the various Front Office staff and business partner groups.

Responsibilities Under moderate guidance, works with internal and external datasets and client reference data and provides analysis in the development statistical, financial and/or econometric models for analyzing asset performance, securities data, derivative pricing, risk exposure or other sophisticated concepts.

Provides analytical support and prepares drafts of standard and ad hoc reports for assigned area.

supports assigned area’s with more advanced statistical and quantitative analyses.

Serves as resource to less experienced colleagues.

Runs models, looks for exceptions, takes corrective action.

Uses technology tools to conduct analyses; applies techniques such as SQL and querying and macro development to extract data for populating models.

Has a good understanding of the relevant processes and products in assigned area and which analyses, methodologies and approaches best support assessment of performance, risk, or valuation.

Interprets findings and prepares initial drafts of standard reports.

Prepares ad-hoc reports at the request of managers and/or other leaders.

Translates complex technical concepts and analyses to non-technical audiences.

Reviews accuracy of reports and calculations performed by less experienced colleagues.

Qualifications Requirements: A relevant degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience in either of the following (finance, data science, information management, mathematics, business information systems) excellent quantitative and analytical skills knowledge of data analysis tools knowledge of data modeling, data cleansing, and data enrichment techniques the ability to develop and document procedures and workflows the ability to carry out data quality control, validation and linkage experience with data analysis techniques the ability to produce clear graphical representations and data visualizations basic knowledge of markets products and processes, ideally FX an appreciation for data protection and experience with data governance principles Technology experience: advanced skills in Excel at least one relational database technology data and analytics programming languages – Python, R SQL Server and T-SQL Tableau BNY Mellon is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
