Engineering Technician Tool Crib


This position is specifically for a Tool Crib Attendant. The candidate will perform moderate tasks, demonstrating an ability to achieve full competency. They will mostly work independently but may occasionally work in groups. Will receive and implement directions from senior level technicians and engineers. Display an ability to adapt to weekend and vacation support on short notice and extended hours as required. Show an aptitude, initiative, and a desire to acquire new skills. Display appropriate caution when working around sensitive hardware and asks questions of senior personnel when uncertain on how to proceed before continuing work. Maintain exceptional customer satisfaction by consistently meeting customer demands and display a high level of professionalism. The candidate will perform additional unspecified duties associated to mechanical integration as directed by the mechanical integration supervisor(s).


Duties and Responsibilities include:

Maintains several databases for the ETIS contractTool crib inventory

Tracking log for delivered/received calibrations

Other databases that may be developed by the TO2 Support Specialist

Facilitates the organization and placement of tools, hardware and miscellaneous items used by Integration technicians

Maintains real-time sign-out sheets for items that have been removed from the tool crib (calibrated, consumable, lifting, keys etc.)

Works closely with LDE to maintain certified lifting hardware on the shelf

Relays procurement requests to the TO2 Support Specialist to maintain a well-stocked tool crib

Databases, tracks, and sends tools out for the integration team. This includes weekly transactions with Tektronix and delivering tools once they arrive

Communicates regularly with flight projects to coordinate use of tool crib assets

Communicates with the TO2 Support Specialist and management, if necessary, when items have been signed out for an extended period with no updates

Sends “update” emails to techs and management when new items/services have been added to the tool crib

Coordinates use of three 549-owned vehicles: HHR (292), E-350 (581), F-350 (1608) and other 549-owned equipment (manlifts, forklifts, etc.)Provides 549 vehicle mileage reports

Requests feedback from end user technicians to keep a real-time record of vehicle/equipment heath and relays that information to the LDE group or TRAX


Required Qualifications: 


High School and four years of expereince. Two years with engineering or space flight hardware environment. 

Highly proficient in databasing, general computer use, and the Microsoft suite of applications, especially Excel and Word

2 years or more of experience in an engineering or space flight hardware environment

Knowledgeable in identifying various tools, measuring devices, materials, etc. that pertain to tool crib operations

Excellent organizational and customer service skills
