Maintenance Technician- St James

Job Locations:

US-MN-St. James



Your Opportunity:

Performs repairs and troubleshooting on food processing equipment to include, but not limited to: stuffers, vacuum pumps, mixers, grinders, packaging machinery, conveyors, hydraulic units, multivacs, and ovens.



Core Responsibilities:

Installs replacement belts, filters, gears, chains and valves.



Rebuilds valves, pumps and gearboxes.



Troubleshoots pneumatic, electric and hydraulic machine problems and makes necessary repairs.



Performs repairs to machines involving machine guarding, bolt replacement, breakdowns due to mechanical wear and plumbing.



Welds machine components.



Performs preventive maintenance tasks such as lubricating parts, drives chains, etc.



Handles installations, including hooking up air, water, gas and the alignment and leveling of equipment.



Complete ALL repair slips given on a daily basis and communicate to the Maintenance Manager if tasks cannot be accomplished before leaving.



Complete established preventative maintenance duties on a daily basis.



Basic understanding of how steam works.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1+ years of related experience and/or training in an industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing environment; or 4 years’ direct experience in an industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing maintenance environment.



Vocational Diploma, Technical Diploma or Associate's Degree from a technical maintenance or vocational school, a plus.



Possess the ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of team personnel and outside contractors.



Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift or scissor lift.



Can understand and follow oral and written instructions.



Ability to read, write the following; work orders, instructions, daily reports and machine manuals.



Ability to receive and relate orders/information using various communication devices.
