Number of Positions:
Job Function 1: Utilizes Nursing Assessment Skills Effectively Starts/restarts or assists RN s in starting IV s as prescribed by Physicians. Obtain blood draws for patients with difficult access. Reports any unusual circumstances to the Clinical Coordinator and takes or recommends appropriate action when complications occur. Performs procedures according to approved policies and procedures in an efficient manner. Maintains Universal Precaution. Age Specific Competencies: Allows patient to have some control in self-care and decision-making. Has competent knowledge of the normal aging process.
Job Function 2: Consistently Demonstrates competent clinical skills. Documents IV starts or restarts in the patient medical record per documentation policy. Performs dressing changes per protocol Communicates data to and from other health care team members in a timely manner.
Job Function 3: Demonstrates professional practice responsibility for coordination and completion of all patient treatments related to IV therapy. Demonstrates ability to multi-task, prioritize care and problem solve to meet the changing needs of (1) individual patient needs (2) department activities (3) family/significant other needs. Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedure.
Job Function 4: Patient Satisfaction: Consistently responds to patients/families in a courteous and positive manner. Consistently responds to patients needs in a timely manner. Identifies needs related to IV therapy and communicates with patients and families. Consistently respects the patients rights to privacy and dignity. Consistently respects the patients rights to confidentiality according to HIPPAA guidelines. Fosters a positive and pleasant environment, which promotes our PRIDE values.
Job Function 5: Maintains a safe environment demonstrates use of proper body mechanics for self, staff and patients. Utilizes standard precautions including appropriate isolation techniques. Consistently follows the National Patient Safety Goals: (1) two patient identifiers for lab draws (2) clinical alarms.

Licensed Practical Nurse certification

Minimum Degree Required:
