Plant Supervisor 2nd Shift

Responsibilities:

The Plant Supervisor for Jet Polymers Fort Payne, AL reports to the Plant Manager. His/her duties include but are not limited to overseeing all the operations of a plant, including managing employees, meeting production and shipping projections, and ensuring quality and safety goals are met. This role is demanding of excellence in character, integrity and work ethic, and requires the person filling this important position to set the highest examples to be followed by his/her subordinates. This individual is expected to manage his/her team impartially, strictly upholding the policies and guidelines set by Jet Polymers and his/her direct supervisor.



Responsibilities & Duties:



Administer all employee work schedules.



Obtain and retain an extensive operating knowledge of all production equipment, materials and supplies, and process flow needed to ensure accurate and efficient operation of the plant, and successful training of subordinates.



Provide and supervise all training to subordinates as required, and supervise all everyday production activities, ensuring compliance to all manufacturing schedules.



Communicate and assist to resolve all maintenance issues.



Manage all communication for safety standards and maintain all safety regulations.



Organize all production tools and equipment to increase efficiency of all activities.



Supervise efficient operations of all plant equipment’s to achieve all plant objectives.



Maintain compliance to all local, state and Federal regulations for all human resource activities.



Prepare efficient plans and manage raw material inventories.



Provide appropriate training and support to all employees and across all shifts to ensure optimal level of performance.



Maintain optimal quality of all products and recommend improvements to production process.



Manage inventory of all plant production supplies and ensure accuracy in same.



Perform regular inspection on all machinery and maintain compliance to all regulations such as OSHA and HACCP.



Provide all hiring assistance to Human Resources.



Assist Payroll with management of timecards/clocks.



Assist HR in resolving conflict and identifying plant workers for promotion.



Assist HR to facilitate new hire production and safety orientation training.



Qualifications:



 



Forklift experience preferred, but not required.



 



Physical Requirements:



 



Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in fluctuating temperatures.



Position requires full range of body motion including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles.



Ability to stand and be mobile throughout an 8-12-hour shift.



Ability to use hands, arms, and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods
