Catering Assistant


As our Catering Assistant at CHI Health, you will play an important role in the health and recovery of our patients.   You will ensure our patients receive the best meal service possible during their stay with us. 


Every day, you will directly impact the patient experience, focus on interacting with patients, and ensure they have the proper meals.  It’s imperative you collaborate with the clinical staff, accommodate and communicate dietary restrictions, and ensure timely meal delivery.  Our catering assistants understand the importance of this work and support our patients and clinical staff to ensure patients get what they need.

Recent pay increase, jobs starting @ $15.00/hr - $20.00/hr ( depending on experience)

Visits patients to confirm daily menu selection, all patient food, and diet-related needs

Communicates diet-related needs to clinical team members

Accurately completes patient tray process: menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery to patients and pickup as assigned, special request and off-time meal deliveries

Must transport ReTherm cart (and/or room service transport cart) to and from the Food and Nutrition department, patient rooms, and various hospital locations

Works cooperatively with team members, patients, and patient unit staff; coordinating customer services

Inventories, gather and delivers floor stock to units as designed by each facility


Minimum Qualifications


Prefer direct patient care or food service experience
