MALDI Biotyper products have revolutionized the Microbiology in the last decade and continue to be the market leading technology for Microorganism Identification and beyond. The solutions are used in clinical, environmental, pharma and food markets and fulfill the regulatory requirements in each market segment.

In the role of Global Product Manager your responsibility will be to take ownership of the Product Lifecycle Management of the Consumables required to run samples for Microorganism Identification (ID) on the MALDI Biotyper Systems (MBT) as well as workflows to support sample preparation kits for fast ID from Positive Blood Cultures and Resistance Testing. Bruker Microbiology and Diagnostics also have a range of Broth Microdilution kits for Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing which will also be under your responsibility.  You will be expected to work closely across multiple functions and with other Product Managers within the team as well as the head of the Business Leaders for Microbiology ID and AST to fulfil and execute on the full Portfolio product strategy including executing new product launches.


Responsible for the Product Lifecycle Management activities of the products within the Product Management team to ensure projects are sufficiently structured & supported for new product development, ongoing management through to discontinuation

Support Product Development through the Design and Development Process using the waterfall approach from Phase 0 through to Product Launch. Ensuring processes are followed and making necessary improvements and efficiencies as required

Develop effective product launch plans to ensure all development components are coordinated taking into consideration project management, connected milestones and developing clear product value propositions, price strategies and product goals for a successful launch

Work with Business Development & Sales teams to create commercial initiatives across product areas to support product promotions and sales activity, ensuring the product is being effectively introduced into each appropriate market segment.

Develop and deliver Sales training to internal sales teams and support OEM partners as necessary. Support Marketing Team in development of marketing materials (flyers, brochures, customer presentations, case studies, etc).

Support product promotion in line with overall Divisional strategy

Work with Product Management, Marketing and Sales Support team to find solutions to improve internal processes and ensure Sales are supported effectively and efficiently.

Participate to international and regional trade shows and build KOL customer network


Successfully shown to manage a portfolio across the entire Product Lifecycle in a regulated environment

Good knowledge of microbiology, infectious disease and virology, proven background in molecular diagnostics,

In-depth understanding in strategic business planning driven by commercial goals and monitored by KPIs

Previous sales experience, especially for products similar to Bruker Microbiology Identification and AST portfolio would be ideal

Ability to develop and maintain business relationships with key customers and KOLs

Ability to promote Bruker products and services to a variety of prospects and customers

Ability to manage multiple tasks and people in a very dynamic industry, sometimes in high pressure environments

Understanding of regulatory guidelines (IVDR) for clinical diagnostics including Design and Development Processes

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Strong leadership in a cross-divisional influencer role

Highly organized and able to deliver projects on goals within agreed timeframes

Strong grasp of Marketing, including creating promotional activities, communicating complex technical information in written and verbal form as well writing marketing materials that resonate with customers, etc

German is a plus
