We currently are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our well established business with an excellent reputation for quality, integrity, and client relations in order to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of our company.



This position will include working closely with our management team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance. Also, overseeing the company’s financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. Performing daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries and record payment sand adjustments.

Primary responsibilities include:



Recording journal entries for all receipts, payments, job costs (i.e., payroll, subcontractor payments, tools, supplies, materials) and other financial transactions.



Filing source documents (such as bank statements, invoices, and receipts) for all journal entries recorded.



Posting journal entries to ledger accounts.



Preparing trial balances at the end of every reporting period.



Preparing financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow statements) on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.



Track budget vs. actual expenses for both project costs and corporate expenses.



Reconciling reports to third-party records, such as bank and credit card statements.



Conducting daily banking activities, such as financial deposits.



Issuing and tracking invoices for accounts receivable.



Processing payments received.



Remitting payments for all accounts payable, including rent, utilities, fuel, equipment and maintenance, insurance, and loans.



Administering payroll.



Maintain eligibility for insurance and retirement.



Compensation records.



Driver’s license documentation.



Maintain garnishments and child support.



Prepare documentation for end of year tax returns.



File quarterly tax payments.



Processing 1099 and W2 tax filings.



State workmen’s compensation audits.



Maintain company insurance documentation.



Maintain required documentation for subcontractors.



Reconcile bank accounts.



Performing other duties as required.



Requirements



Proven bookkeeping experience.



Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.



Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.



Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.



Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.



Proficiency in English and in MS Office.



Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.



High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.



BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.

Thoroughness.



Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:



Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.



CPA is a plus.



Previous bookkeeping experience preferred.



Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
