Furr Pet Spa and Wellness has an opportunity for a Spa Manager to join our team! 



 



Furr: Pet Spa and Wellness Clinic is a full service grooming salon, pet spa, and wellness center. Compassion and concern for pet safety, style, comfort, and well-being are our top priorities. The team at Furr strives to provide excellent customer service and personalized attention to each pet.



 



Location:  909 N East St., Indianapolis, IN 46202



 



Shift Details: Full-time position working rotating schedule: four shifts Mon-Fri 7:30am-6pm and three shifts Mon-Fri and every other Sat 9am-4pm. Weekend availability is required. 



 



Pay Range: $18 - $19 / hour



 



Job Summary: The spa manager is a highly motivated individual with experience and passion for customer service, sales, internal and external marketing and community participation. The spa manager and the customer service representatives are the first contact for clients and their pets when calling or visiting the spa. In addition to the practice manager, the spa manager oversees all daily activities of the spa. The spa manager is also a customer service representative and will answer the telephone, make appointments, check in/out patients, perform wellness exams and helps keep the spa clean at all times.

Responsibilities:

How you'll make an impact: 



The spa manager is responsible for assisting the practice manager with all spa team members and groomers making sure each team member is providing excellent care to all grooming clients admitted to the spa.



The spa manager is responsible for helping the practice manager establish policies and procedures for the spa.  The spa manager will assist the practice manager with facility maintenance and assist with basic social media and marketing.  The spa manager must attend and assist in leading all team meetings and attend and participate in the all clinics team meetings.



A Spa Manager will be expected to:



Provide compassionate care to grooming patients and clients.



Use practice management software



Assist with hiring, training, evaluating, supervising and disciplining (when necessary) all customer service representatives and groomers.



Schedule all spa team members keeping the spa staffed appropriately.



Develop and maintain all spa and grooming forms, policies and procedures.



Be reasonably familiar with all breeds and coat patterns.



Check on immunization status of grooming clients, ensure paperwork is complete before patient arrival, obtain and record contact information from clients to 



Basic office cleaning and maintenance to provide a clean and safe environment



Prepare and maintain all animal cages and runs making sure all cage doors are properly secured after admitting or moving patients in the spa.



Perform basic safety rounds to ensure all runs, cages, dryers, tables, bath tubs and all other equipment are maintained and in good working order.



Maintain constant vigilance regarding open doorways so pets do not escape from building.



Advise clients of any changes in their pet’s behaviors during grooming



Handle client’s basic medical questions with confidence and direct to veterinarians or veterinary technicians/assistants when appropriate.



Understand all required vaccinations and vaccination protocols and can explain to clients.



Prepare estimates for clients, assist with inventory, answer phone and make/confirm appointments, processing financial transactions



Qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 



3-5 years customer service experience required



1-3 years supervisory experience in a grooming salon or veterinary clinic is preferred



High school diploma or equivalent is required and minimum of 21 years old 



Demonstrated commitment to MVP core values. 



Demonstrated empathy and respect for teammates and patients. 



Ability to handle varied and sometimes difficult conditions: will be exposed to highly emotional situations, unpleasant odors, noises, and animal excrement.   



Excellent customer service skills. 



Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to successfully perform the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position. 



Confident in multi-line phones, basic computer knowledge, typing skills, basic office functions



Stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis.



Conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner even when stressed and/or focused on individual tasks.



Work unaffected in an environment where dogs are barking.



Have the following physical effort: Work requires lifting and carrying boarders and food up to 40 lbs.  Will be assisted by other team members lifting boarders over 40 lbs.



Be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
