Program Assistant III

Overview:

The Program Assistant III reports to the Assistant Director of Scholarships in the department of Student Financial Support.  This position is responsible for assisting with a variety of scholarship processes and transactions. The Scholarship Team supports university programs that are large in size, scope, and complexities that are embedded within enrollment management strategies at USU.  The successful applicant must be friendly and enjoy working with students. They should also be accurate and detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced office as a selfless team member.



Responsibilities:

The program assistant will be part of the larger Scholarship Team and will work collaboratively with all office staff. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and to learn the intricate details of institutional and state scholarships. Duties and responsibilities may include:



Customer Service



Scholarship auditing (checking for term utilization, differential tuition payments, low hours, etc.)



Review daily outputs and reports



Processing of international taxes



Completing ServiceNow tasks



Scholarship Appeals



State of Utah scholarships and awards (Opportunity, Utah Promise Program, Talent Development Award Program, etc.)



Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:



Knowledge and Skillset



Strong computer experience—including Excel and Microsoft Suite



Experience in completing tasks and assignments



Solid communication skills



Problem-solving skills



Customer Service skills



Willingness to learn and acquire new skills



Fast learner, quality consciousness, and committed to deadlines



Dependable with a strong work ethic and the ability to work without supervision



Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced office environment



Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills



Deductive reasoning and problem-solving skills



Years of Experience/degrees



Four years of experience; or an associate degree plus two years of experience; or a bachelor’s degree

Experience in Higher Education

Advertised Salary:

$33,000 minimum plus excellent benefits
