KARL STORZ is currently seeking a highly motivated Machine Learning Business Analyst to join the Sales Analytics team. Reporting to the Sales Analytics manager, the ideal candidate has expertise in machine learning and is passionate about creating business value through designing and developing robust and performant cloud-based solutions infused with AI. They should be comfortable with the end-to-end ML/AI solutions development process, starting from understanding the internal customer business problem and ending with production implementation of machine learning pipelines.



This opportunity will get you working on large scale structured, unstructured data sets, apply machine learning techniques on the real-world datasets to build and deploy models using the Azure or Google cloud technologies. A well-qualified candidate should be highly technical, building and designing enterprise scale predictive analytics. They are a self-starter with abundant intellectual curiosity who excels at framing problems analytically, comfortable working through ambiguity, and have a proven track record of helping leverage analytical insights to drive impactful decisions.



RESPONSIBILITIES



* Developing and deploying solutions for solving business problems using machine learning and predictive modeling techniques.

* Apply statistical and machine learning methods to solve problems, including the full modeling lifecycle (e.g., helping clarify business requirements, data discovery and extraction, data manipulation, model development and evaluation, interpreting and effectively communicating results, transitioning solutions to production, performance monitoring, recalibrating models, etc.).

* Formulate a real-world enterprise scenario into a machine learning problem and think of optimal ways of solving.

* Data wrangling with large data sets, including surgical procedures data, on the cloud to understand the properties of the data. Transform data into innovative features/signals that can improve a machine-learning tasks.

* Ensure you adhere to rigorous data science principles and maintainable code.

* Partner with Marketing and Commercial teams to understand business context, iterate and improve on data insights and solutions to deliver actionable information to the business.

* Create data visualization to summarize the modeling insights and communicate them to internal team members and business stakeholders.

* Continue to widen and deepen predictive modeling and data science skill sets.

* Coach members, share knowledge, and support the continuous development of our machine learning and predictive modeling.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS



* A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Math, Engineering) or equivalent consulting experience.)

* 3+ years of experience in data science or machine learning, including building practical machine learning models with applications to real-world problems.

* 3+ years of experience with ML tools used to build models and analyze data (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).

* 3+ years of experience in coding (e.g. Python, R).

* Knowledge and direct experience with both supervised and unsupervised learning (e.g., time series forecasting, clustering, classification) and/or Big Data techniques (e.g., Spark, Pig, Hive).

* Experience in processing and building visualizations using reporting tool as Tableau.

* Effective written and verbal communication skills to translate technical solutions and methodologies to executive leadership.

* Demonstrated success working in a collaborative, service-oriented team environment.

* Experience working in a cross-functional setting, managing the full lifecycle of projects.

* Experience working well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment.

* Attention to detail with self-discipline and a drive for results.

* Advanced problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.

* Proven experience with tolerance for ambiguity working through incubation to actual product definition.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



* A Masters' Degree or higher in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Math, Engineering) or equivalent consulting experience.

* Experience with distributed/cloud computing systems (e.g. Spark, Hadoop, Azure, Google Cloud, AWS).

* Pragmatic attitude and ability to rapidly iterate and evolve ideas into practical implementations.

* Experience in medical device or healthcare industry.
