Our business model also includes an extensive series of both online and real-world content. We have hosted one-day conferences in over a dozen cities around the country, and we have resumed our live event schedule as of early 2022. In addition, we host a regular series of online gatherings, ranging from topic-focused webinars several times a week, to monthly virtual conferences, as well as regular roundtables and small-group sessions.

About This Role:

We are looking for an experienced story editor with a background in journalism to produce finished copy, to help guide contributors, and to manage the flow of stories to our website.

Candidates should have an awareness and curiosity about news and trends in business, in particular those that involve management and the whole continuum of the HR field including mission and values, diversity and inclusion, talent acquisition, benefits, and social impact.

One of the primary roles will be to assign and edit stories about our own events, which include panel discussions, one-on-one conversation, and other topical discussions.The editor will also generate reported, enterprise stories on topics related to From Day One's areas of focus.

Further responsibilities include helping the content team with scouting for high-profile speakers as well as interviewing potential speakers in preparation for live events.

The editor will report directly to the chief content officer, while working in tandem with the rest of the content team.

Key qualities for the role: creativity in matching editorial approaches with topics, as well as accountability, accuracy, and respect for deadlines.

This position requires a 4-year college/university degree at minimum, with a strong academic background.

Several years of demonstrated experience in managing an editorial pipeline from assignment through editing and publication is required.


This is a full-time salaried position. Starting salary is $70k per year with opportunities for regular advancement and raises.

This position is mostly remote, with regular meetings at our office in the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. In addition, this job will require occasional travel to our conferences, which take place around the country.
