Atelier Program Assistant

Overview:

The Lewis Center for the Arts and the Princeton Atelier are seeking a Program Assistant to support the Director of the Princeton Atelier and the Executive Director of the Lewis Center for the Arts in the administration of this unique interdisciplinary program. This part-time position supports 6-8 courses per year, assisting visiting lecturers and artists in their course preparation and needs over the semester. The position partners with staff and faculty across the Lewis Center to support the final presentations of Atelier courses as well as providing event support for the Atelier@Large series.



 



Founded by Toni Morrison and currently led by Paul Muldoon, the Princeton Atelier brings together professional artists from different disciplines to create new work in the context of a semester-long course. Recent visiting faculty have included songwriters Bridget Kearney and Stew, comedian Mike Birbiglia, filmmaker Josephine Decker, artist Mario Moore, and playwright Branden Jacobs Jenkins among many others. The Atelier is housed in the Lewis Center for the Arts, the academic unit at Princeton University that also includes programs in Creative Writing, Dance, Music Theater, Theater and Visual Arts.



Responsibilities:

Coordinate the Atelier courses (6-8 annually):



Communicate with visiting lecturers about course schedules, budget, processes and systems



Find space for all courses in consultation with the Director and the visiting lecturers and complete necessary course paperwork



Communicate the needs of each course within the Lewis Center for support from other Programs



Provide information to Communications for course publicity



Financial support for Atelier courses including processing all supply orders and guest artist payments for each course and support visiting lecturers in managing their individual course budgets



 



Support the final course presentations as well as all Atelier-related events:



Support the planning and organization all Atelier-related panels and events including guest honoraria, travel arrangements and venue coordination. 



Provide Communication with information regarding events and final presentations. Possibly create some graphic publicity pieces and/or help with press release copy.



Qualifications:

Qualifications:



Strong communication and interpersonal skills



Experience working with guest artists and/or good customer service experience.



Graphic Design experience a plus



Knowledge of Concur a plus
