Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for an AIR VEHICLE ENGINEER / PRINCIPAL AIR VEHICLE ENGINEER specializing in Mechanical Systems Architecture to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This role will be located in MELBOURNE, FL and can be hired at a higher grade based on experience.



In this role you will be responsible for supporting the Mechanical Systems IPT by managing the IFC/SW integration activities with both internal and external customers. The selected candidate will have responsibility over a broad range of functions across the Engineering portfolio including Requirements, Integration, Cyber, System Safety, E3, and configuration management. Additionally, the selected candidate will support in IFC Development and Certification functions for current and future IFCs. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordination and collaboration with diverse engineering design teams to provide imaginative, technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems in support of programmatic milestones.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



* Provide mechanical systems horizontal integration across SW and Test teams

* Technical leadership and interface with technical teams, including Integration, Safety and E3.

* Direct interface with IPT lead in support of program technical activities

* Coordinate & collaborate IFC SW leads.

The candidate must be a self-starter capable of flourishing in an environment with minimal direction. The candidate will need to have excellent communication and writing skills with experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



* The basic qualifications for the Mechanical Engineer are a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline AND 2 years of related professional/military experience in mechanical/aerospace engineering that includes a background in aircraft mechanical systems.

* The basic qualifications for the Principal Mechanical Engineer are a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in mechanical/aerospace engineering that includes a background in aircraft mechanical systems OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in mechanical/aerospace engineering that includes a background in aircraft mechanical systems.

* Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (that has a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or is under continuous evaluation).

* Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Programs (SAP) prior to the commencement of employment.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



* Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline.

* Familiarity with NX CAD software and Teamcenter PLM.

* Familiarity with AGILE design and integration processes.



SALARY RANGE: $64,600 USD - $97,000 USD

SALARY RANGE 2: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD



Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
