Your applications will be used by roboticists, software engineers, clinical engineers, testers and the broader organization Your tools will bring novel solutions to the areas of: fleet management; simulation, data analysis and visualization, live debugging and triage, and remote access You will design, implement, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C++/Python code Drive the technical direction of the software tools used by the organization.
Work directly with Product, Design and Operation teams to deliver features to your products Take on a leadership role within the software team and mentor junior engineers Collaborate closely with the robotic software teams to build new features that span the boundary between the robotic system and the outside world Experience & Skills: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience Extensive programming experience in Python, C++11/14 (or other modern versions) Thorough knowledge of the standard library, STL containers, and algorithms Strong background in object oriented design, prioritizing testability, and reusability Experience in at least one of the following areas:o Building native developer toolso robotic software development or similar domainso Linux operating system or real-time operating systems Proven track record of identifying bottlenecks and bugs, and devising solutions to these problem About our Productivity and Reliability Team We are small group looking for strong technical leads that want an opportunity to move fast and help with building our core robotic simulation platform that will enable the broader development team to create better products for our patients.
This is a new group at the company and our mandate is to promote significant change that will improve the productivity and reliability of our engineering teams and products.
The team is also responsible for building a resilient, performant, and secure internal platform which hosts our core back-end services to control our builds, test automation platform, system simulation, engineering data pipelines, and storage for our surgical robotics engineering group.
We have the potential to overlap with many teams and as such emphasize tearing down organizational silos and a strong culture of collaboration.
