Description 

Project Estimator Frederick, Maryland Kensington Glass Arts (KGa) in Frederick, Maryland is seeking a Project Estimator in our office in Frederick, MD.

Kensington Glass Arts (KGa) specializes in high-end interior glass work, typically for law firms and organizations with very upscale office interiors.

The company is unique in that we manufacture and install architectural glass products.

KGa's single source capacity provides for a unique capability to control the destiny of our projects from beginning to end.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Review contract documents, identify glazing scope items, calculate expected costs, write proposals and interact with clients to generate sales contracts for the installation division.

Work with vendors to get best pricing and commitments to produce work for fixed costs.

The Project Estimator will be OSHA 10 certified.

SPECIFIC DUTIES Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for commercial glazing installations applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques and processes.

Compute cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.

Assume responsibility for creating and maintaining project specific organizational systems (such as new bid folders and files).

Create and maintain database of current and potential clients.

Forecast and track key account metrics and analyze data to help establish company strategies and focus.

Overcome objections of prospective customers to facilitate contract awards.

Emphasize product/service features and benefits, discuss KGa philosophy and strategies and generate buy-in from potential clients.

Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner.

Periodically conduct information-only presentations, such as seminars, trade show demonstrations, and other efforts.

Build and maintain ongoing awareness of new products and services, competitor activities, and other research.

Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.

Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key customer stakeholders and executive sponsors.

Assist with high severity requests or issue escalations as needed.

Propose solutions to technical issues and help to implement proposed solutions and act as technical resource for project management staff.

Consult and interact with other KGa divisions as required to facilitate overall company efficiency and performance.

Coordination of receiving, tracking, and organization of all estimating related document and bidding documents.

Review awarded projects to establish critical path milestones and propose action paths, schedules, processes and accuracy of scopes.

Propose solutions to technical issues and help to implement proposed solutions and act as technical resource for project management staff.

Arrange for pick up and drop off of bid documents and materials.

Interact with vendors to establish project costs.

Assist clients with product specification.

Negotiate new contracts and establish relationships with clients.

Initiate new systems and procedures to improve efficiency such as project costing systems, labor review and analysis systems, project projections and other systems necessary to support growth of Company.

Review awarded projects to establish critical path milestones and propose action paths, schedules, processes and accuracy of scopes.
