Corporate Compensation Consultant

The Corporate Compensation Consultant is responsible for providing counsel and compliance assistance with the strategic direction of assigned division and the organization through three key areas of focus

External market placement including design and analysis of hiring matrix strategies, ensuring internal equity is reviewed, achieved, and maintained, and the design and administration of all salary and incentive processes and programs.

Incumbents proactively anticipate the need to flex between areas of responsibility based on trends affecting the assigned divisions, internal Human Capital Management (HCM) department partners, and the overall corporation.

Works closely with the management of the functional area and in so doing, becomes an expert at the organizational structure and jobs within that division.

Actively listens to the customer’s request and offers objective suggestions and alternatives for job description and compensation equity reviews.

Utilizes interviews with hiring managers and respective HCM business partners to determine job content accuracy and responsibilities; may reach out to incumbents for details or clarification when necessary.

Reviews, audits, and processes salary increase proposals/requests.

Accesses the HRIS to create and update job codes and related information, as well as create and generate required and requested reports.

Works closely with Talent Acquisition and Human Capital Management staff to provide salary guidance on job offers and changes.

Exposure to HRIS database systems and report generation packages.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. with exceptional excel skills.

Understanding of legal and regulatory environment that impacts compensation (i.e., Fair Labor Standards Act, Minimum Wage, etc.).

Strong attention to detail and strong principles of data integrity.

Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.

Designation of or progress toward Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation a plus.

Occasional travel to branch offices for meetings or to do training.



Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration with two or more years of experience.

In lieu of degree, a combination of education, internship and/or experience in an HR or Compensation role totaling a minimum of 8 years will be considered.

Prior experience in compensation practices including job description writing, use of salary surveys to pull market data, and conducting job analysis and market reviews is desired.

Demonstrated analytical and project management skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to establish effective relationships with all levels of internal staff and outside professionals.
