Responsibilities:
Review the products and features to provide solution-oriented legal advice on a range of laws and regulations focusing on copyright, privacy, advertising/ad technology, trust & safety, and data security.
Supports product and business to grow and expand while identifying and balancing user, policy, and risks considerations.
Draft and manage the implementation of consumer disclosures, FAQs, terms of use, and privacy notices.
Provide legal analyses of applicable laws, regulations, and industry guidance that impact product development, operations, and commercial agreements.
Provide pragmatic, business-focused, solution-oriented legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders about compliance with applicable contractual and statutory requirements related to legal and financial risks and mitigation strategies.
Manage and develop strategies for potential disputes, litigation, enforcement, and regulatory matters.
Work cross-functionally with business and legal colleagues locally and worldwide to support global products.
Requirements
Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant legal experience working on technology related issues, with 1+ years of in-house experience ideally
JD degree
California Bar admission in good standing (or California Registered In-House Counsel)
Deep understanding of the local business ecosystem, the media landscape, and the digital advertising business
Ability to quickly understand the product and business needs
Experience in copyright, privacy, litigation, content and advertising policy and regulators
An interest to learn new areas of law or technology to identify legal issues and propose creative solutions for meeting goals while minimizing legal risk
Excellent organizational skills and ability to lead and effectively prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
