Senior Bank Reconciliation Clerk

Job Summary:

POSITION SUMMARY:



Under general supervision, this position is responsible for reconciling store depository, credit card, debit card and Ecomm bank accounts utilizing an automated reconcilement system and excel spreadsheets.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



Run daily jobs and download POS and bank deposit information, in addition to running period end jobs via the Chesapeake system.



Reconcile assigned store depository, credit card, debit card and Ecomm bank accounts utilizing an automated reconcilement system and excel spreadsheets.



Correspond with Loss Prevention daily, resolving any missing deposits and deposit shortages.



Correspond with banks and store personnel daily, resolving missing deposits, deposit shortages, miscellaneous items and over/shorts.



Analyze miscellaneous bank items, determining which course of action to take to determine how to journalize.



Upload all bank fee information into mainframe program to journalize expenses.



Prepare any manual journal entries that are needed.



Prepare and update detailed report of missing deposits, providing the position’s supervisor and Loss Prevention with detailed information on missing and late deposits.



Maintain accurate list of reconcilement status of all stores and the reconcilement of all bank statements on a timely basis.



Responsible for confirming the receipt of all bank statements each period and notifying the banks when statements are not received.



Serve as backup for various treasury clerical personnel.



Set up merchant identification numbers for new store locations to process credit card transactions.



Respond to chargeback notifications for retail store credit cards and Ecomm accounts.



Review Aurus recon discrepancies for retail store credit card and Ecomm accounts daily and process necessary adjustments.

Job Specifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:



High school diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required



1+ years practical experience in an office environment experience required



High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications



Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills



Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)



Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts



Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients



Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.



Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management



Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting



Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.



Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.



Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos



Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools and forklifts.



Ability to work overtime as necessary



Must have current driver’s license.
