Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking an Aircraft Performance and Sizing Engineer / Principal Aircraft Performance and Sizing Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.



The candidate will perform Aircraft Performance analysis within a Flight Sciences team, working with related disciplines including Aerodynamics, Propulsion, Mass Properties, Configuration, and others.



Basic Qualifications:



* The basic qualifications for a Aircraft Performance & Sizing Engineer are a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 2 years' experience, or a related Master's degree

* The basic qualifications for a Principal Aircraft Performance & Sizing Engineer are a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 5 years' experience, or a related Master's degree with 3 years of experience

* Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (that has a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or is under continuous evaluation).

* Must be able to obtain and maintain Program Access prior to the commencement of employment

* Understanding of fundamental aircraft aerodynamic and propulsion parameters

* Understanding of aircraft performance analysis



Preferred Qualifications:



* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering

* Experience with aircraft carrier suitability analysis, including but not limited to launch & recovery, bolter, waveoff, and nose wheel lift off

* Familiarity with MIL-STD-3013A

* Experience with multi-disciplinary design, analysis, and optimization (MDAO)

* Experience in performing aircraft performance analysis, including mission performance, turn performance, kinematic maneuvering

* Experience in aircraft sizing

* Experience with generation of carpet plots

* Familiarity with Matlab and Linux Operating System



SALARY RANGE: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD



Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
