About This Job



The Lead Accountant will be responsible for owning accounting functions, including chart of account maintenance, journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, financial statement development, and variance/flux analysis. This role interacts with a range of stakeholders and must have an eye towards driving cost and process efficiencies across the organization. Effective communication and presentation skills are highly valued due to frequent interactions with senior management. Success in this role will serve as a path to a Controller position as the company grows.



Desired Skills



Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required. CMA/CPA, preferred



Three to five years of accounting experience required.



Experience with ERP (NetSuite, SAP, etc.), including project management and administration, preferred



Previous supervisory experience, preferred



Proficient verbal and written communication skills



Excellent interpersonal skills



High degree of attention to detail



Requirements



Key Responsibilities



Performs financial and cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.



Manages ERP platform



Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.



Maintains the general ledger.



Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.



Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.



Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.



Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.



Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.'



Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.



As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor(s) to maintain accounting software system(s); recommends updates to enhance accounting processes and systems.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000
