Controller

DESCRIPTION:



This Divisional Controller will oversee a team of 3-4 people including (Staff Accountants, AP and AR) in the Philadelphia and Waterbury, CT locations. Their main ERP for month end close is Stratix which is similar to SAP. Manages month and year end processes for the division seeing that all accounting and management processes are compliant with GAAP, IFRS and SOX. These processes include preparation for audits and Headquarters required schedules, reconciliation of Balance sheet accounts in Blackline system, preparing annual budgets and monitoring monthly progress on attainment divisional and company goals. Must haves: - Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance - Manufacturing or Steel industry experience - Experience overseeing month end close - Experience preparing financial statements and annual budgets - Balance sheet reconciliation experience - SOX Compliance - Experience overseeing a team of 2 or more people - Experience using an automated ERP such as Stratix, SAP, Oracle, JDEdwards, NetSuite, Peoplesoft, etc. - Excel (Ability to create pivot tables and v-lookups from scratch) Nice to have: - CPA/MBA -Stratix - Blackline Disqualifier: Majority of their experience is in Retail or Non-profit industry Client JD: Directs and leads divisions general accounting function in the completion of the divisions ledger accounts and financial statements. Works with division executive team to manage those business levers that drive business results. Performs other responsibilities, tasks and projects as assigned by management. Drives understanding of true costs across all departments by building metrics and processes to help managers improve the divisions financial performance. Sees those specific factors such as labor (including employee counts), material, marketing and sales expenses, and inventory expense and turnover as well as overhead are adequately captured and detailed within the financial statements work product, so leadership can monitor profitability of each product line and the profits associated with each customer. Oversees all spending categories ensuring that effectives processes and approval authorizations are in place to control unauthorized spending and to drive cost containment. Documents and controls capex and expense approval decision tree processes to ensure compliance with division/company goals and objectives. Working with Risk Management (cash applications, credit and collections) and Sales functions on traditional treasury responsibilities by helping to guarantee that credit is only issued to those companies who will pay Coilplus for the products sold to them. Acts as 2nd level of collections, between Sales and Risk Management in reaching out to the divisions delinquent accounts.
