Position Summary:

The Director of Training & Development is primarily responsible for the successful design, delivery, and management of training programs for all products and product launches. Responsible for the development of the new Agora Sales Academy, this individual will be tasked with implementing learning solutions to train new sales team members to be effective at launch and ensure appropriate ongoing learning curriculum for product knowledge, market insights, and selling skills. Candidate must be a strategic leader and hands-on training specialist. This position reports directly to the SVP of Sales.

What You’ll Do:

Create a robust learning and development culture for the Agora Data organization

Shape the vision, develop concept, and drive curriculum of the Agora Sales Academy – from onboarding and sales modules to the development to an impactful coaching approach

Work in close collaboration with commercial leadership, to identify critical sales competencies and develop short-, medium- and long-term plans to develop individuals in those areas

Identify, develop, and implement advanced learning programs and training on business acumen, account management skills, product knowledge, new promotional campaigns, product launches, communication skills, selling skills, new hire and advanced training programs, sales meeting training workshops, and ongoing learning programs as needed

Demonstrate a high level of collaboration with leadership including sales, marketing, commercial operations, human resources, and technology teams to ensure efficient onboarding processes are in place and increase the speed to competency

Ensure regular review Academy modules, prepare annual plans, priorities, and programs

Offers solutions for bridging gaps between current organizational capabilities and needs

Partners with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to identify training needs, improve training solutions and lead change initiative implementation

Proactively assesses knowledge gaps within field teams in collaboration with appropriate colleagues, seeks opportunities to address gaps through training initiatives and programs

Establish learning & development objectives and initiatives that translate strategy into actionable, goal-oriented behaviors of a high performing commercial field team


What You Need:

Bachelor’s degree required or the equivalent coursework in a related specialized field and five+ years of related experience, or a Master's degree.

5+ years of industry and commercial experience including auto, structured finance, and/or financial services

2 years in a HQ sales training role, and product launch experience a plus

Experience delivering training to a variety of audiences in a corporate setting

Experience with Challenger Selling Model is a plus

Preferred Skills:

Team player and able to interact with team members

Strong platform / presentation / facilitation skills

Fundamental knowledge of adult learning principles preferred

Candidate needs to command a strong classroom presence, understand the auto industry, and display the ability to convert concepts, skills, and knowledge into a learning context for participants

Project management abilities

Adept at learning and then teaching new technical, financial, and regulatory information

Self-motivated and managed; ability to work independently and as part of a team with limited supervision

Ability to organize and work under strict time and production deadlines, while producing quality deliverables.

PC and e-communication proficiency required; MSOffice skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom and other web enabled remote training tools

Willingness to travel and overnight availability
