The Client Our client is a growing private accounting firm where all staff work part time.
Started ten years ago by a forward thinking and entrepreneurial business woman wanting to achieve and provide a balanced working life for herself and those she works with.
The firm now manage 150 clients and have eight members of staff.
Currently looking to grow the team they are looking for an Accountant who would be able to undertake some additional PA and administrative duties to join their flexible and part time firm.
The Role This role will cover a range of accounting and management activities across this small and forward thinking practice.
These will include, but are not limited to;
-Communications with Employers, Employees and Payroll Providers
-Maintenance of client files & records following specific procedures
-Managing client Bank Statements following specific procedures
-Managing out-sourced book-keepers and providing them with appropriate information.
-Confidently communicating with HMRC in both written and verbal forms.
-Providing HMRC with any documentation upon request & resolving HMRC enquiries
-Maintaining personal records of the clients and ensuring all information is kept up to date.
-Inputting client information into software and keeping track of progress for returns.
-Regularly complete statutory submissions both online and in written format.
-Complete client on boarding procedure including client liaison and paperwork.
-Keep up to date with meetings arranged by email and telephone.
-Monitoring the payroll, admin and office email inboxes
-Production of quarterly company online newsletters The Candidate Our client is seeking a bright, mature candidate with exceptional communication, initiative & management skills and who is happy to muck in and work flexibly within our small team.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working & liaising with a range of clients and colleagues as well as undertaking PA and accounting duties.
Handling sensitive situations in a professional manner while maintaining a bright outlook and a smile.
Managing a busy practice ensuring smooth operations and working with a range of software.
Candidates with accounting backgrounds and qualifications keen to move in to a practice manager role will be given strong consideration.
The Terms Our clients' employees all work across four days, meaning that the standard working week is 28 hours.
This role would require someone for three of those four days, working core hours of 10am to 5pm.
Salary will be dependent on experience and applicants should include their desired salary range in their cover letter.
