For information on Sacramento, go to website: Additional vacancies may be filled from this vacancy announcement.ResponsibilitiesAs Central Valley Operations Office (CVOO) Operations Manager, this position is responsible for directing and integrating the water and power operations and related activities of the Central Valley Project (CVP).Responsible for the integration of Reclamation water and power demands consistent with the requirements of contractual and cooperative agreements with the State of California, Western Area Power Administration, Corps of Engineers, energy suppliers, and other principals in California water conservation and hydroelectric power operations.Develops long-range, annual, short-range, and emergency operating plans and coordinates these with the California Department of Water Resources to effect coordination of the CVP with the State Water Project.Through subordinate supervisors and technical staff, coordinates and conducts the various CVOO programs to manage CVP water and power operations.Oversees staff activities to ensure compliance with the requirements of biological opinions developed under the Endangered Species Act for operation of the CVP.Provides for the development, enhancement and maintenance of the centralized control and data acquisition systems for the CVP.Directs the CVOO organization as both a first and second level supervisor.
The staff includes approximately 70 employees engaged in professional, highly technical, and administrative functions associated with the management of water and power operations throughout the CVP.Travel RequiredOccasional travel - Travel is required approximately 10%.
