JOB DESCRIPTION FOR: SUPPORT WORKER
LOCATION: WOMBOURNE
JOB TITLE: SUPPORT WORKER (female)
SALARY: From £10.00 p/h (days) £12.00 p/h (weekend)
HOURS: PART TIME, 17 hours per week, Friday 6:45am - 8:15am + 4:00pm - 8:30pm, Saturday 9:30am - 8:30pm
BANK STAFF ALSO REQUIRED
THE COMPANY: Our client is a private individual hiring on behalf of a young woman in a private residence who requires care and support on an individual, one on one basis.
THE ROLE: Our client is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced Support Worker to provide assistance to a bright & bubbly young woman with severe physical disabilities (cerebral palsy), both in her own home and in the community.
The home environment is a positive, friendly and supportive one and the woman is pleasant with no challenging behaviours. She enjoys an active college life and extracurricular activities, as well as social functions.
The ideal candidate will be experienced, knowledgeable, patient, caring, compassionate and able to work either the part time pattern above, or as Bank Staff.
Are you/Do you have?:
NVQ in care (or working towards)
Strong experience in care, especially with disabled persons
Experience in domiciliary care
Full UK driving license
Patient and compassionate
Professional, reliable, enthusiastic
Flexible and willing to work required hours at weekends and Bank Holidays
Experience of hoisting, moving and handling (Moving and Handling certificate essential)
Key Responsibilities of the job role to include:-
Provide quality, considerate and competent care/support in the home and in the community
Assist with all care duties as per Care Plan (medication, feeding)
Ensure good reporting/record keeping
Work closely along family whilst respecting their privacy
Provide support with all personal care
Accompany to social events
Research and become involved in appropriate activities both at home and in the community
Include care/household duties
Maintain the strictest confidentialityThis is not an exhaustive list of requirements and responsibilities
This role will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check
