As a part of TIAA’s Financial Solutions business, TIAA Bank, a division of TIAA, FSB, provides full-service, nationwide banking and lending services to consumer, commercial and institutional clients through a variety of channels, including online, its Florida-based financial centers and at other business offices throughout the country.Position SummaryResponsible for detailed research and credit analysis of business customers, guarantors, vendors, dealers and/or other third parties and industry and economic conditions for a variety of commercial loan transactions.Essential Functions
-Receive and analyze credit requests, spread the customer's financial and non-financial information including, but not limited to, financial and pro forma statements, cash flow analysis and historical performance and economic factors and make decisions regarding these requests within established guidelines and policies
-Prepare written analyses, loan approval summaries and (as requested) related industry studies to assist in the making of lending decisions on new, renewal, and extension loans.
-Participate in discussions regarding credit worthiness of pending loan requests
-Present analytical results and written conclusions to all levels of management
-Prioritize and handle mid to large dollar transactions which require complex and unique transaction structures
-Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with the business units and the Credit Committee.
-Communicate with business units regarding credit transactions being reviewed; assisting with structuring the transaction and working through credit and risk issues
-Credit administration duties up to individual credit authority
-Documentation review and administration up to individual credit authority
-Process appeals and changes to original decisions
-Provide support to sales force, platform managers and other Team members as required
-Complete special projects for the organization specific to credit risk
-Provide coaching and training of credit staff
-Some credit travel required as needed for customer, prospect and HQ visitsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-Strong knowledge of bank credit rating and modeling systems
-Analytical with proven ability to convert large amounts of data into meaningful recommendations.
-Solid working knowledge of Excel
-Strong communication skills
-Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from various levels of management.
-Strong and demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects under pressure and complete them on time and with a high degree of accuracy.
-Workout knowledge and/or prior experience a plusQualifications
-Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or finance or equivalent in experience.
MBA a plus.
-Minimum 8 years’ experience as a credit analyst, 2 years in commercial credit, preferably with demonstrated increasing levels of signing authority
