Description 

JOB SUMMARY Compiles and analyzes financial data and is responsible for developing integrated expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations for the Video Programming Financial Planning and Analysis department.

Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience Plans and conducts complex studies to determine cost of video programming as well as the tracking of multiple non-financial metrics Recommends budget adjustments and other cost improvement measures Analyzes complex financial data and extracts and defines relevant information; interprets data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project a financial probability Reviews costs and performs margin analysis related to various programming initiatives Performs complex statistical, cost, and financial analysis of data reported in the various accounting systems Develops financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles Interprets financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports Special projects as needed and performs other duties as requested by supervisor REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Skills/Abilities and Knowledge Ability to read, write, speak and understand English Ability to analyze and interpret information Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure Ability to prioritize and organize effectively Ability to problem solve and model/forecast operation activity Knowledge of advanced accounting theory and procedures Knowledge of operating and capital financial statements Education Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, mathematics or statistics Related Work Experience 4 years of senior accountant, financial statement or financial analysis experience WORKING CONDITIONS Office environment
