The facility is the size of 8 football pitches and incorporates the latest construction and environmental technologies WARRANTY ENGINEER Department – Quality Assurance Reporting to – Business Systems & Warranty Manager Location - The Ansty Business Park, Coventry The Role Working directly for the Business Systems & Warranty Manager, the key aspects of this role is warranty claims supplier recovery, facilitating the supplier rejected claims investigation, managing supplier warranty contracts and parts movement between dealers, plant and suppliers.
This role involved sole responsibility of managing the warranty parts store at Ansty and managing the logistics of parts.
The candidate will be responsible for all supplier queries handling pertaining to the claims and supporting finance department for claims debit management.
Spend considerable time within warranty data base, updating the status of all supplier claims and reporting the recovery performance on weekly basis to the executive team.
This role involves supporting the warranty management, product quality issues management (both external and Internal) through TIE, TIM and 5F tools.
The role will be required to liaise with the dealers, suppliers and key internal departments within LEVC Ansty plant including aftersales, engineering, manufacturing, quality engineering, quality operations and SQA.
Role responsibilities Primary responsibility for warranty supplier recovery process.
Key responsibility to process and drive all supplier warranty claims to completion.
Investigation and follow up of rejected claims with cross functional team to understand the liability and root cause of the issue.
Responsible for ensuring that timescales are met to ensure warranty claims are not timed out and that suppliers respond to claims being submitted.
Working with procurement on suppliers warranty and NCM contracts.
Raise debit notes for supplier accepted claims and follow up with finance on supplier and dealer debits.
Escalate to appropriate level for supplier claims rejections and supplier contracts for any delay.
Able to feed into new model teams to ensure current warranty faults are considered in future design or model changes.
Furnishing claims information to suppliers on all supplier related warranty claims.
Discuss with dealers regarding the parts availability and support movements of parts between suppliers and dealers.
Arrange part movements between dealers and plant for Investigation.
Follow up the parts movements with sales operations, dealers and suppliers.
Manage the tracker for warranty parts located at the plant.
Warranty Tracker management.
Provide clear direction to the management team about the status of warranty claims and its processed status.
Support aftersales team in understanding the duplicate claims and claim discrepancies.
Provide adequate support in facilitating field failure investigation reports & documents, to facilitate PCA.
Support warranty processes optimisation.
Support field analyst and warranty controller on LEVC liability claims investigation.
Experience and qualifications Minimum 7 years within Quality or Warranty – ideally in OEM or ‘Tier 1’ environment Minimum 5 years’ experience of working in a warranty supplier recovery or similar role is essential Quality related background essential In -depth knowledge of Warranty supplier recovery process and issues management Experience in dealing Warranty Claims and Issue data management Good proven record of day to day communication with supplier teams Experience of interpreting technical information Fair knowledge about vehicle, parts and their functions Fair knowledge of understanding vehicle field issues and reporting tools Fair Knowledge of warranty recovery documentation & reporting Good Communicator, team and all levels within the company Good team player Basic understanding of dealer processes The Person Degree level – Engineering, Quality or Manufacturing (Desirable) Proven knowledge of quality tools and problem-solving techniques essential Good knowledge warranty systems Fair Knowledge of dealer management is desirable Ability to coach / influence others Good organisational and communication skills Very experienced and proficient in PC Office applications, particularly excel Proven record of interfacing with external customers, Automotive OEM Dealers Good all round interpersonal skills Attention to detail Self-confidence Ability to work on their own initiative Willingness to acquire new skills Strong in coaching, facilitation and communication vital Occasional travel to retail business mainly London and trip to other dealers including International How to apply Use the link below “Apply Now” to complete a brief application and upload your cv.
