Description 

Job Description: SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital Team Leader Neuro ICU Neuro ICU (5ICU) provides nursing care to the Neuroscience patients whom are critically or acutely ill or injured.

The age of our patients includes adult, and geriatric populations recovering from head injuries, stroke, ENT.

The department delivers care through personnel specifically trained and educated to meet the needs of the patient population.

Care is provided twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

5ICU is a neurological ICU that is part of our State of Missouri Time Critical Diagnosis accredited Stroke Program.

Our facility is also a primary stroke center of excellence.

5 ICU services the Neuroscience disciplines of Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Otolaryngology.

Equipped with specialized education, assessment skills, and monitoring devices that focus on care of patients with neurological deficits, regardless of etiology, to decrease morbidity and mortality in its affected population.

The Nurse Manager plans, organizes, directs and evaluates clinical and administrative activities for the Neuro ICU Department.

Implements and interprets policies, procedures, standards and regulations for nursing personnel, patients, medical staff, and the public.

She/he maintains twenty-four hour accountability for all activities of the unit Effectively plans, organizes and evaluates work duties of self and department staff to promote quality nursing and positive patient care outcomes.

Builds and leads a high performing Team: Motivates, inspires and develops employees to accomplish stated outcomes and results.

Organizational Teamwork and Collaboration: Collaboratively works with peers and others to set and achieve interdepartmental / organizational goals and to resolve barriers to interdepartmental / organizational performance.

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.

Three years clinical management experience in designated specialty.

Current Missouri Registered Nurse Licensure Certification: Current ACLS required.

TNS, CEN preferred.
