SEND TA / Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant
Are you a passionate, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with experience working 1:1 with children that have additional needs?
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a SEND TA / Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant in an outstanding Special Needs school in Newton Abbot.
The school is for students of various abilities, and the post requires a talented SEND TA / Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant who is flexible, enthusiastic and dedicated to supporting children with educational needs. The perfect candidate will have a sense of humor, with a bubbly nature who is open to getting stuck in and building great relationships with staff and students alike.
The School is privately funded and crosses over two sites, one in Newton Abbot and one in Torquay and is steadily expanding. Ages range from primary to secondary and your role will be to support children who need additional learning support on a 1:1 basis. Some of the needs vary from ASD, ADHD, SEMH and challenging behaviour.
The needs are growing, and we have lots of opportunities’ growing day-to-day.
All applicants must be NVQ Level 3 qualified and have a minimum of 6 months experience working with children with SEND / Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. You will need to feel confident within a classroom environment and be able to take direction from a class teacher.
The role will include:
Assisting the teacher with classroom preparation
1:1 work with students who require additional support
Leading group work
Helping the class teacher with pupil observations
