Responsible for creating staff schedules, conducting meetings with student staff to provide performance appraisals, discussing progression toward learning outcomes, and developing content for staff meetings & newsletters.
Support and advise student development to ensure articulation of hard and soft skills acquired as a result of engagement experiences.
With a firm commitment to guest satisfaction and positive experiences, coordinate daily operations within Campus Event Services.
Oversee tasks completed by student employees including furniture and audio-visual setup & teardown in event spaces throughout the Oglesby Union, Student Services Building, Askew Student Life Center & additional locations.
Review daily setup information and work with Campus Event Services Coordinators to resolve any potential issues/conflicts with space usage in a timely manner.
In the absence of other Campus Event Services Coordinators, assist with lost & found and information desk operations.
Serve as a representative of Campus Event Services and the Oglesby Union on various committees and attend weekly meetings.
Attend and support special events taking place outside of normal working hours and on weekends as needed.
Cultivate, maintain, and foster relationships with campus partners.
Effectively work alongside co-workers and campus partners to ensure the coordination of safe and successful events on campus.
Maintain working knowledge of in-house audio-visual equipment.
Oversee and advise student employees on the proper setup, teardown, and function of AV equipment in event spaces throughout the Oglesby Union, Student Services Building, Askew Student Life Center & additional locations.
Assist with onsite management of audio equipment needs during various events taking place outside of normal working hours and on weekends as needed.
Serve as a backup to Campus Event Services Coordinators by processing reservation requests and reviewing event proposals during planned time off and periods of heavy usage (i.e.
when reservation books open).
Conduct regular inventory of furniture and equipment.
Other duties as assigned.Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency and six years of experience related to the duties of this position.
(Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.) Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of event planning and ability to coordinate, organize and evaluate meetings and/or events.
Knowledge of applicable computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite, and basic computer functions.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of student program planning, development, and evaluation.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
