Join us Job Posting Title Weld Engineer Job Description Summary Responsible for laser welding and assembly equipment.
Research, develop, maintain, and improve laser welding and assembly equipment processes.
Create and maintain welding and assembly techniques, methods, procedures and process documentation.
Provide support to laser welding and assembly operations to meet and exceed overall production and quality results.
Identify equipment needs, analyze weld and assembly concerns, and recommend solutions to engineering management team.
Oversee the schedule and execution of preventative maintenance of laser weld equipment.
Provide technical support and training to welding and assembly personnel.
-Select and execute application of welding equipment to manufacturing processes involving fabrication of metals by utilizing knowledge of production specifications, properties, and characteristics of metals and metal alloys, and engineering principles
-Conduct research to develop or improve existing or new welding equipment, develop new or modify current welding methods, techniques, and procedures
-Establish and maintain welding and inspection procedures that comply with regulatory code requirements and serve as guide for production process and welding personnel
-Ensure quality control and welding personnel are qualified/certified and maintains compliance with established procedures
-Maintain knowledge of and work with site laser safety officer regarding regulatory developments in the welding field.
-Maintain laser welding equipment through development and monitoring of PMs, TPMs, and supporting necessary maintenance and repair
-Develop welding and manufacturing equipment purchase proposals by studying manufacturing plans and commitments; evaluating manufacturing processes and requirements
-Recommend new manufacturing equipment by identifying vendors and operating equipment, including control devices, evaluating equipment capabilities and service history, and evaluating vendor service and support
-Complete equipment cost projections by analyzing investment, return, and savings
-Monitor and advise personnel during equipment installations
-Prepare equipment operators by conducting training and providing reference and support resources
-Maintains equipment records by filing documents; updating equipment database.
-Contributes to engineering and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests and by helping others accomplish job results
-All other duties as assigned.
