We’re currently looking for a Manager, Risk Management to join our team at Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation in Irving, Texas.
This role will be responsible for: Providing the analytical support for the effective management and growth of NMAC and IFS’s portfolio of auto financing contracts.
Collaborates with business units to accomplish optimum tier mix for the different products by balancing profitability (ROA) and business development (Penetration) goals.
Contributes to building brand value and achieving enduring profitable growth.
Job functions include but are not limited to: Manage a team of Analysts responsible for design, development, implementation, and validation of credit decisioning policies and procedures, pre-approval programs and exception tracking activities in order to manage the risk of consumer receivables.
Review and analyze existing business strategies, as well as recommend and implement new strategies as appropriate.
Design and ensure appropriate utilization of monitoring and tracking to measure and quantify the effectiveness of strategies or tests Work closely with the credit buying, underwriting, pricing and loan default departments to collaborate on developing credit risk tiers, associated pricing and monitoring of portfolio asset performance.
Design, develop and monitor multiple algorithms to automate credit decisions, and to monitor the performance of accounts originated through automation and recommend changes as needed.
Manage the design of credit pre-approval models for repeat customers and conquest (new) sales.
Monitors the quality of accounts originated through the various methods of preapprovals.
Enforce strong quality control discipline around buying and funding practices, especially as it relates to low and high side overrides, exception tracking, scoring tiers vs booking tiers and associated ROA’s.
Mange the development of ad-hoc reporting of key performance indicators detailing the company’s credit decisioning and quality control of booking and funding process for presentation to executives management.
The Manager will also drive analysis on business projects and decisions.
As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.
Management Accountabilities: Has exempt subordinates or contractors.
Supervises and provides leadership, coaching, guidance, training and staff development; interviews and selects unit employees; recommends termination when appropriate; and monitors time and attendance of subordinates.
Minimum Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of statistical experimental design principles, standards and practices relating to custom scorecard development using standard statistical techniques such as Stepwise Discriminant, Bi-variate Analysis or Logistic Regression.
Extensive lending industry exposure and experience as it relates to the stages of development and maintenance of risk underwriting scorecards – familiarity with sample design of risk applicant population data, performance inference analysis and design methodology, and segmentation analysis Exposure to alternate deal structure based underwriting methodologies, alternative data usage and machine learning based underwriting model development will be considered a plus Knowledge and exposure to monitoring exceptions to credit policies and funding procedures, especially in the auto finance industry, will be considered a plus.
Knowledge of finance, economics, accounting, consumer credit and collections Knowledge of consumer lending data Knowledge of key drivers of credit risk, delinquency, credit loss, and recoveries Advanced analytical and computer skills.
Expert with data management tools, including SAS data management and SQL.
Highly proficient with SAS Advanced Analytics software.
Proficient with Tableau reporting software.
Highly proficient with fundamental software applications including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
Ability to identify and understand business issues and translate these issues into quantitative questions Demonstrated ability to apply complex financial and statistical principles Demonstrated ability in employing advanced quantitative and analytical tools Demonstrated problem solving, decision making, and leadership skills Effective written and verbal presentation skills Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with Senior and Executive Management Minimum 5 – 7 years’ experience with progressively greater responsibilities in risk management, applying statistics, financial analysis, and data mining within a bank, financial institution or related business Two or more years in a managerial role Bachelors’ Degree in analytical and mathematical field.
Advanced degree is a plus.
