This is a new RN position.
The focus of this role will be creating smooth workflows for patients transitioning from the inpatient to outpatient setting, and providing leadership to the Wound Center clinical staff.
The Registered Nurse selected will become part of a cross-functional, high-performing clinical and business team working to deliver quality comprehensive wound care services.
Our program is growing, with planned expansion and development during the next several months.
Our ideal candidate possesses the following: RN with wound care nursing experience (certification strongly preferred) Business savvy manager who understands practice operations Dynamic leader who can inspire teams and drive excellence Strong cross-functional team partner Come grow with us Position Summary The Outpatient Wound Care Manager is a Nurse who directs and coordinates the daily operations of the outpatient Wound Care Services and is the clinical supervisor of the Wound Care Nurses.
He/She ensures staff and patient needs are met and to provide a seamless transition between the inpatient and outpatient multidisciplinary Wound Care Services.
He/She collaborates with the staff, physicians, directors and other profession colleagues in various departments to ensure continuous quality improvement.
This position requires continuous identification of educational opportunities for staff and follows through with implementation acting as an expert resource.
He/She is responsible for oversight of reportable core measures related to wound, ostomy and continence and development and updating of related policies and procedures.
The Outpatient Wound Manager must be an autonomous, future-oriented critical thinker who demonstrates effective leadership and management skills to ensure high quality care is delivered on a daily basis.
Functions under the general supervision of the Wound Clinic Director, Nursing Director, Vice President of Ancillary Services and Medical Director.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) BSN preferred; MSN highly desirable.
Current license by the Maine State Board of Nursing required.
A graduate from an accredited Wound Ostomy Continence Program is preferred.
Certification as a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse is preferred.
Requires advanced knowledge and expertise in providing care in order to oversee others and serve as an effective resource.
Progressive management experience in a WoundClinic is preferred.
Requires interpersonal and management skills in order to deal with complex management problems.
Communicates effectively with unit and administrative personnel, physicians and a variety of other hospital staff and persons within the community.
Requires critical thinking and analytical skills to make management decisions affecting the RN discipline, and collaborate with the Inpatient Wound Manager to make management decisions effecting the department.
Requires the ability to integrate the knowledge of teaching principles and counseling techniques in order to direct the growth of the unit staff.
Requires a high level of organization skills, effective time management and delegation strategies that include the ability to rapidly prioritize and adjust work flow according to changing unit needs.
