Solution Architect

As a Solutions Architect within PNC's Technology organization, you can be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland OH or Miamisburg OH. Desired Experience: Proficient with multiple scripting languages (ie Python, groovy, bash, etc.) Experience in distributed systems design, developing services, APIs, etc Automated testing concepts and frameworks (for example, PyUnit, Unittest, go test, etc.) Experience with Linux Experience with Docker/Kunbernetes Jenkins Pipeline DSL experience and familiarity with Jenkins Shared Libraries Experience in distributed systems design, developing services, etc. Continuous integration and Delivery principals and best practices Source control and configuration management principals and workflow patterns using Git Some knowledge of configuration management tools (ie Ansible, Chef, Puppet) Experience with DevOps ToolChain platforms (for example, Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, Sonarqube, etc.) Familiar with micro services and relevant technologies such as orchestration, service discovery, service meshes, etc. Advanced troubleshooting skills Ability to design and implement highly-available and fault-tolerant solutions Understanding of Agile software development concepts (for example, Scrum, Kanban) Ability to schedule, estimate, priorities and deliver to commitments with a number of parallel ongoing efforts Excellent documentation skills Proven ability to communicate using oral and written methods Passion and interest to continually yourself automate yourself out of a job Description of an Ideal Team Member: Design and develop scalable services by applying continuous integration / delivery concepts Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of our enterprise applications and systems Work to continuously improve speed, efficiency, and scalability of the enterprise applications and systems Work across functions (development / testing, deployment, systems / infrastructure) and project teams to ensure quality and speed across enterprise systems Automate wherever feasible / practical Proactively communicate with our PNC technology partners and sister teams Proactively seek opportunities to implement improvements to internal processes Actively participate in the implementation of continuous integration / delivery concepts across PNC MIS teams Review requirements and other technical documentation Interact with stakeholders regarding functionality and planning Job Description Designs solution roadmaps, according to business strategies and processes in solution architecture, through client requirement analysis, cross-team collaboration and problem resolution. Designs solution roadmaps, and system and software architecture according to business strategies and solution architecture standards/processes. Analyzes client requirements and determines appropriate solutions to these requirements based on business needs. Resolves routine to moderately complex problems and issues in solution architecture; assesses any potential risks and determines solutions to these risks. Works with other solution architecture staff, technology experts and business stakeholders to provide functional support to clients on solution architecture updates. Planning: Tactical, Strategic Ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan. Platform Architecture Knowledge of technologies and methods to design processing mechanisms and roadmaps to execute business application systems; ability to design these roadmaps and deploy supportive interfaces for end-users to access related systems, in accordance with standards and processes. Problem Solving Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. Software Product Design/Architecture Knowledge of and experience with activities, tools and techniques for converting market requirements into the software product design. The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) Knowledge of and ability to use this universal framework released by 'The Open Group' to effectively plan, develop and govern enterprise architecture. Work Experience Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
