Description 

Network Systems Manager

Peraton is looking for a Network Operations (NetOps) Manager, in Alexandria, VA. The NetOps Manager is responsible for managing a team of 8-10 Network Engineers engaged in the development and operational support of a mission critical, high op-tempo, secure communications and control system. The system provides secure video, IP-Phone, and fax to executive government officials on a 24/7 basis with on-call support from the NetOps team. In addition to operational monitoring and support, the NetOps team will be assigned configuration and support responsibilities for task orders and deliveries. The position will also include the management of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phones, call managers, and gateways.



This is what you'll do...



- You will be responsible for leadership, management, direction, and technical oversight for Network Engineers of approximately 10 persons

- You will maintain proper staffing levels and expertise to meet business and contractual objectives through the effective planning and execution of projects and programs

- You will provide staffing schedules for 24/7 Test operations

- You will meet functional requirements of staffing, training, talent development, engagement, retention and overall management of the departments

- You will develop and conduct work programs in accordance with the company's policies, priorities, and budget constraints

- You will report directly to the Operations Manager and works with the rest of the group leaders in the organization to achieve common goals

- You will need experience with SolarWinds (NMN, CM, toolset), RealVnc, IssueTrak (ticket system).

- You will need experience with Cisco Call Manager (CUCM), Cisco ISE, Juniper Junos, Variphy

- You will use and manage Cisco Routers and switches, Juniper firewalls and border routers, Cisco phones and Codecs, mobile devices, crypto

- You will be responsible for the indirect use of: Splunk, Palo Alto, workstations/servers, IP-fax machines, Cisco TMS, etc.



You'd be a great fit if you have...



- A Minimum 10 years' experience leading large Network Operations and Network Engineers

- Excellent customer service skills for direct interaction with internal and external teams

- Proven ability to support network infrastructure solutions of similar scope

- Experience with the Implementation and troubleshooting of networks using concepts/protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS, MPLS VPNs and emerging concepts such as Software Defined Networking

- Experience with LAN and datacenter technologies such as Ethernet, Spanning Tree Protocol, First Hop Redundancy protocols

- 8570 compliance with a minimum of Security+ to access the operational system and CCNA before change authority is granted.

- An Active TS/SCI Security Clearance



It would be even better if you have...



- Exceptional verbal, written (including the development of procedural documentation), interpersonal, and presentation skills desired

- Experience with network and performance management tools, security tools and appliances, layer two technologies, wireless communications, cloud computing and telecommunications services and technologies is preferred

- Experience working in a telecommunications carrier environment performing large-scale mission critical network implementations is a plus

- Experience as a self-driven and resourceful individual achieving goals independently as well as in cooperation with others

- The Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities

- The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations, and gather team consensus to move forward

- A working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as network protocols and common services (e.g., DNS, FTP, SSH, SNMP)

- Previous experience supporting a Government and/or Department of Defense customer

- Experience with application of DoD IAVAs, DISA STIGs, and NIST security controls
